The Institute for Anarchist Studies relies on financial support from you to do its work. We are a largely volunteer-run organization—proof that a small number of dedicated individuals can produce inspiring results! We aim to further anarchist analysis and to spread the influence of anti-authoritarian ideas and praxis through reflection, dialogue, and education. Our work takes many forms, including:
- Grants for radical writers & translators
- Perspectives on Anarchist Theory journal (both online and in print)
- Anarchist Interventions and other book series through AK Press
- The Mutual Aid Speakers Bureau
- Sponsorship of educational events
- And more!
By including the Institute for Anarchist Studies in your will, you can memorialize your commitment to liberatory struggles and ensure that our shared vision of a free society carries on.
A bequest to the IAS is easy to arrange and can be made by including the following words in your will:

Any type of cash, securities, personal property, or real estate can be given through a bequest. The IAS can also be named beneficiary of assets that often pass outside a will, such as IRAs, pension plans, life insurance, or assets held in a trust or annuity.
